The unpublished Pixel Watch made headlines; The processor of this smartwatch is from four years ago!
It seems that the Pixel Watch is not at all the smartwatch we expect because its processor is made by Samsung four years ago.Google recently unveiled the Pixel Watch during its I/O event. A product that was first rumored four years ago. At the time, it was said that Google wanted to launch the product in three different models, which not only did not happen, but we had never seen a new smartwatch unveiled by the company until more than three years later. p>
This finally happened three days ago. Although the official release of this Watch will still take several months, now at least we are sure that such a product is going to hit the market. Google has not released much information about the Pixel Watch, so we still do not know exactly what smartwatch is going to be released this fall. But thanks to various whistleblowers and news sources, we were able to gain some access to some of the information about this product. This includes the Pixel Watch processor, which is said to be not what we expected at all. We first saw it used in the original Galaxy Watch; The smartwatch that was unveiled four years ago, in 2018, with the Tizen operating system. If you've noticed, we said above that the first rumor about Google's smartwatch came out four years ago. It seems that Google thought it should not change the processor during these four years. We do not know the reason for this, but whatever it was, the American company was completely wrong. It was said that the beating heart of this Watch would be made by Samsung, but we thought that this processor would be Exynos W920 and not Exynos 9110, which was used four years ago in a product that has now stopped production at all.The Exynos 9110 is a 10-nanometer chip that uses two relatively weak Cortex-A53 cores. These two cores make the Exynos 9110 a chip close to the Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus, which is based on 12-nanometer lithography and has been used in watches such as the Fasil Gen 6. The Exynos W920, however, is a much faster, more powerful, and significantly less energy-efficient chip. It is even rumored that a more powerful and better version of this chip will be used in the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Like the Apple Watch 8 Series and the Galaxy Watch 5, the Google Pixel Watch will lose its value, especially since Google does not want to see the product as a mid-range device at all and wants to use it alongside the Pixel 7 Series as a premium watch. The market is slow, not with the A-Series, which make up the American company's mid-range handsets. In fact, this smartwatch is supposed to represent Google's efforts after several years of work to produce a smartwatch; Now can this product meet the expectations it expects? Given this situation, it seems unlikely.
The point is that by the fall of this year and the official release of the Pixel Watch, the processor will be more than 4 years old. Although Samsung is also very interested in this chip, it was last used in the Galaxy Watch 3 series in 2020. However, it is expected that the use of the new version of Wear OS in the Pixel Watch will be able to largely compensate for the weakness of this chip, so that the Google smartwatch will meet the needs of users in various areas such as power consumption, speed and power.>
Pixel Watch should usually be the Apple Watch of the Android world. Now, Google's move is at least the first attempt by an American company, which has been quite disappointing. We hope this does not happen next year.
What do you think about this? Do you think the Pixel Watch will be worth buying with this situation?
