It seems that Microsoft is planning to release a model of the Surface Pro 9 with an ARM-based chip.

As we know from the news, apparently Microsoft wants Surface Pro 9. in two models, both with an ARM-based chip and an Intel-made chip. This news was published by one of the reporters of the Windows Central website, quoting a reliable source on Twitter. Now the interesting thing is that in this news, the name of AMD chip is not mentioned. While AMD has chips that use less power than Intel's representatives, which are much more suitable for use in hybrid tablets. However, there is a possibility that Microsoft has abandoned these processors for use in the Surface laptop series.

Currently, we do not have any information about when Microsoft wants to unveil the Surface Pro 9. But looking at the time of the unveiling of Microsoft's previous generation tablets (October), we can say that this will most likely happen before the Qualcomm Summit event. This means that before Qualcomm unveils its new chips in November, we will see the unveiling and perhaps the launch of new Surfaces. As a result, the most likely processor that can play a role in the ARM-based Surface Pro 9 model will be the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8cx. will be renamed to SQ3. Currently, the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8cx is only the heart of the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s tablet, and it performs well. But compared to Apple's M1 and M2 chips, it has nothing to say.

Of course, the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8cx is so powerful that it can do many tasks at the highest possible speed in the Windows operating system. However, at this year's Summit, Qualcomm is going to close the gap with Apple by unveiling a new and powerful chip. Also, in the optimization department, Qualcomm should act a little more seriously so that users have more and more logical reason to buy Surface Pro 9.

Currently, there is a lot of information about the design, price, software and hardware capabilities of Surface. We don't have Pro 9 and as a result we have to wait and see what more and more reliable information about this product will be published by October.
