The Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus may be introduced later than expected
About two months ago, rumors started circulating about the Snapdragon 8 Plus Generation 1 Plus chip Plus model. It was announced at the time that Qualcomm planned to officially introduce the chip by June (June-July). But now a well-known Chinese whistleblower claims that Qualcomm has postponed the supply of this chip to the second half of 2022. The whistleblower, whose predictions usually come true, says the delay in supply is due to problems with the flare-up of the Corona crisis in China. It's good for the economy, but on the other hand, if these restrictions are lifted, the increase in the number of people suffering from the country's economy will cause a more serious crisis. The whistleblower says that Lenovo and Qualcomm have a very good relationship with each other, which is why the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will probably be the first Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus-based phone. In this regard, it should be noted that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro was also the first phone to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 1st generation. But this year, due to the problems that Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 has, Qualcomm intends to deliver the Plus chip model to users sooner than usual. It is worth mentioning that Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 is produced by Samsung. Although Samsung is one of the most important companies in the world in the field of mobile chip production, many experts believe that the chips produced by the Taiwanese company TSMC have more to say. There have been several reports of the chip overheating and consuming too much energy. That's why Qualcomm decided to outsource the production of the Plus model to TSMC.
Some time ago, a Korean news agency reported that the first Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 Plus-based phone will be available to users in late June or early July (mid-July). Although the name of the phone is not mentioned in this report, it is said that Chinese users will get this phone sooner than users from other countries. Lenovo (the maker of Motorola handsets) is also a Chinese company.
According to some rumors, the processor in the Plus model does not look much different from the regular model, but we can expect a GPU for it. Benefit from a 10% improvement. Although the chip will not differ much from the standard model in terms of hardware as a whole, but thanks to the use of TSMC technology, it will probably perform much better in terms of energy consumption and heat than the conventional model.
