According to the latest news about the production status of Samsung's expected foldable phones, the Korean company seems to have started the production of high-speed UFS 4.0 memory for the Galaxy Fold 4.

It has been a few years since UFS 3.0 technology was produced. This internal memory technology, which is very fast, brought about a great evolution in the field of information transfer and working with smartphones, and now it is considered a very successful technology. But Samsung is planning to use a newer technology called UFS 4.0 for its next flagships.

UFS 4.0 is a very high-speed standard that will be used for the first time for the company's expected foldable phones, the Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4. be used Since these phones are going to be officially unveiled in 6 days, the company recently announced that these memories will be mass produced from this month so that the assembly companies can receive the number of memories they need at the appointed time.

Samsung unveiled the UFS 4.0 memory technology in May and claimed that this standard will offer much faster speeds compared to before. Although the performance of this chip has not yet been determined in practice, on paper and according to Samsung's claims, apparently this standard will have 50% more optimal performance compared to UFS 3.1, so that the phone can run games and heavy applications faster. However, the high-speed memory is more effective during the execution and loading of applications, and has nothing to do with processing while playing games.

Although Samsung has not officially announced which phones are going to have this technology, the Galaxy phones Fold 4 and Flip 4 are the most likely candidates because their unveiling time coincides with the introduction of UFS 4.0 memory into production lines. The Galaxy S23 series will definitely use this type of memory, but these phones will hit the market early next year. (We say Galaxy Fold and not Z Fold because of the possible name change of these products, which was previously reported). Virtual and augmented reality will also be used. Although the Korean company is no longer active in the production of virtual reality headsets, it is still present in the market as a supplier of one of the main parts of these products and helps companies active in this field, including Sony, which manufactures PlayStation VR2 has used OLED panels made by Samsung.

Let's go back to folding phones; According to the information we have about these products, we can say that the Galaxy Fold 4 will probably be equipped with an internal memory of 1 TB in some markets. It will also use models with 512/256 GB of internal memory, but we do not know if all these memories will be based on the new standard or not. Samsung has to unveil its new phones in 6 days (August 19). We will definitely receive complete information about these products on that date. So we have to wait.
