NASA has provided exciting details of the Da Vinci probe mission that will reveal the planet Venus to humans behind the thick clouds.

In a recent article in The Planetary Science Journal, NASA experts shared details of the DAVINCI mission to study the planet Venus.

Tasks and structure The Da Vinci Mission

The Da Vinci Mission, named after the headline "Deep atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble Gases, Chemistry, and Imaging" The name and work of Leonardo da Vinci, also a Renaissance artist and scientist, will be launched in 2029.

This mission was chosen by NASA's Discovery Was managed by the Goddard Space Flight Center. The main objectives of this mission are to chemically analyze the atmosphere of Venus and capture new images of its surface.

Venus, the hottest planet in the solar system, has a thick and toxic atmosphere full of carbon dioxide and an incredible pressure of 1350psi NASA will explore the hellish world of Venus with two new spacecraft

Da Vinci Mission + Consists of two parts: the orbiter "Carrier, relay and imaging spacecraft" or "Chris" (CRIS) and an atmospheric probe. Chris consists of a series of two cameras designed to capture the dense cloud cover of Venus and to map its highlands.

Da Vinci probe suite It is 200 kg of titanium. Inside will be a high-performance chemical laboratory capable of precisely analyzing Venus' atmosphere to search for traces of rare gases and isotopes. The probe also has instruments for measuring temperature, pressure and wind speed, and a camera designed to capture high-contrast images of Venus's surface.

Flight plan for the Da Vinci mission

Da Vinci will be launched in 2029 (1408 solar). By 2030, the spacecraft will make two close transits across the planet, collecting up to 60 gigabytes of data about the atmosphere and surface along its path by remotely measuring infrared and ultraviolet waves. The third encounter with Venus will take place in June 2031. This region is a "Tesserae", meaning very rugged highlands, which is one of the oldest structures on the surface of the second planet closest to the Sun.

At an altitude of 67 km, the Da Vinci spacecraft has its own heat shield Releases and opens a parachute and then studies the atmosphere of the planet Venus. In total, it will take about an hour to reduce its height to the surface of the planet. About 30 kilometers away, the Da Vinci probe goes under the clouds of Venus, giving it the opportunity to explore the alpha zone from a height. The mineralogy composition will also determine its constituent rocks.

It is not designed to work on the surface of Venus and all measurements must be taken before landing. But if the device can survive a speed of about 50 kilometers per hour during an impact, as well as extreme pressure and temperature, it can communicate with Chris's orbiter for another 17 to 18 minutes.
