It has been about a year since rumors and speculations referred to the smartwatch being developed by Meta (Facebook). The first time was in February 2021, when rumors were circulating about an Android smartwatch (not a Wear operating system) optimized for meta-based services (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp). Later, there were rumors about the unveiling of this smartwatch in 2022.
In June, a report was published that this smartwatch could have two cameras. The first is a sensor for video calling and the second is detachable for taking photos and videos like the GoPro camera. Finally, in October last year, a day after Facebook changed its name to Meta, Bloomberg announced that the American company had taken inspiration from Apple Watch to design its watch case.
This week, we found that the Meta smartwatch project is much more ergonomically innovative. In this regard, a patent was registered on June 24, 2021 (July 3) by this company in the World Intellectual Property Management Organization (WIPO). This organization approved and published the patent of Meta Company on January 13, 2022 (January 23, 1400); A document of about fifty pages showing a smartwatch with a detachable display. The patent describes the invention as a portable device that includes a strap, a stand, a detachable display, and a built-in camera.
The point of this conceptual idea is that the screen is detachable, which can be rotated around the environment to adjust the direction of the camera. If the first model (at the top of this article) shows a rectangular model of the Apple Watch with a camera, the second model shows another model with a circular display like the Galaxy Watch, which can be equipped with two or three lenses. By rotating the screen, the user can change the front lens of the sensor and thus adjust the viewing angle to his liking.
According to the latest rumors and speculations, the Meta smartwatch is scheduled for release in 2022. It remains to be seen what designs the company will implement from its patents for the first generation of these watches and what items it will keep for use in future generations of these smartwatches. These watches will also use body temperature sensors, heart rate monitors, motion sensors and physical activity sensors. These sensors are very common among all smart watches. So we're not sure exactly how Meta intends to use them. We will have to wait and see what more detailed information will be published about these smart watches of this technology giant in the coming months.
