According to a patent filed by Apple, the company's glowing logo may return to MacBook laptops. As you probably remember, Apple's MacBooks had a glowing logo of the company for years, but in 2015 Apple decided to abandon this feature.

In the documents of this patent, there are detailed explanations about the use of the logo on the panel. On the back of devices such as laptops, this logo can emit light. Three of the engineers named in the patent were hired by Apple in 2018, three years after the feature was abandoned. Also, according to the explanations, this time Apple wants to adopt a different approach for its bright logo.

For the first time, Apple switched to using a bright logo in 1999 for the PowerBook G3 laptop. Then, for 16 years, it remained one of the key features of MacBook laptops that many users in general were very fond of. In 2015, the 12-inch MacBook was released without this feature, instead using a simple embossed logo. In 2016, the new generation of MacBook Pro laptops also lost this feature and since then there is no news of the bright Apple logo.

  • The new generation of Mac Mini and MacBook Pro will be introduced in early 2023.
