A spectacular photo of Comet Leonard has defied the competition to win the top prize in the Royal Greenwich Observatory's Astrophotographer of the Year 2022 competition.

This spectacular image of Comet Leonard was captured by astrophotographer Gerald Rhemann on Christmas Day 2021 and shows incredible detail.
