Apple hired a veteran Lamborghini executive for the Apple Car project

Apple is trying to expand its research and development team for the Apple Car project. A new Bloomberg report shows that Apple has hired Luigi Taraborelli, a 20-year veteran of the Italian automobile company Lamborghini, to develop its electric Car project. This action by Apple adds a very heavy weight to the Titan project team and they plan to unveil their new Car later this decade.

During his time at Lamborghini, Taraborelli worked mainly in the research and development department of this company. According to a profile he shared on his LinkedIn account, Taraborelli was the head of chassis and vehicle dynamics for the company. In this department, he has been responsible for many tasks, including the development of the chassis concept, vehicle features, overall vehicle performance, vehicle dynamic goals, handling characteristics and elasto-kinematics of the vehicle suspension system.

Bloomberg notes that Taraborelli has worked on various Lamborghini models such as the Urus, Huracan and Aventador. He also has the experience of working on several series projects such as the Lamborghini Strato. Prior to that, Taraborelli has been involved in automotive marketing, development and validation, among others. He joined the company in October 2001 and left the company in May 2022.

The report goes on to say that Taraborelli will become one of the most important pillars of the Apple Car team. He is expected to play a key role in the design of the Apple Car project. Earlier, there was a report that Apple has officially ended the cooperation with its former design director, Jony Ive. It has changed its strategies by hiring and breaking with numerous forces. However, the American tech giant's current goal is to introduce an electric Car with full self-driving capabilities later this decade. The company also previously appointed Kevin Lynch to oversee Apple's electric Car project. It remains to be seen what effect the addition of the veteran Taraborelli will have on Apple's intended project.
