As you know, Apple plans to launch iPhone 14 series phones with two types of chips (A15 and A16). Now it has been reported that the more powerful model is supposed to be 15% faster and stronger than the previous generation in terms of processing and 25-30% in terms of graphics.

If you have been following the news about the iPhone 14 series, you probably You know that Apple wants to equip its flagships with two chips this year. One of them will be A15 and the other will be A16, which will be used in two iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. If you are hearing this for the first time, you might be a little surprised because A15 is the same chip that acts as the beating heart of the iPhone 13 series. They use the graphic core, while the mini and standard models have 4 cores. Also, the amount of RAM in the Pro and Pro Max models reaches 6 GB, while in the two cheaper models, there is 4 GB of RAM, which of course are both of the LPDDR4X type.

This year, however, the American company decided to use processors separate from each other in terms of name. It happened that now the A16 chip will be used in the Pro and Pro Max models of the iPhone 14 series, and the A15 will play the role of the beating heart in both the standard and Max models. Of course, this will not be the only difference between the two series because we will see differences in parts such as the camera, display refresh rate, etc. A15 will change dramatically. This means that this chip will be based on 5nm manufacturing technology. But this manufacturing technology is apparently going to improve a little. In the iPhone 14 series and in two standard and Max models, the A15 chip will be used, which is in the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, that is, the 5-core version. We will also see 6 GB of RAM memory of the same LPDDR4X type, which together will really improve the performance of the two standard models compared to before.

But in relation to iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, we have to say that the story is a little different. Although the A16 chip used in these phones is 5nm, it is manufactured with TSMC's N4P manufacturing technology and not N5P which was used for the A15. Of course, this upgrade is not so noticeable that the lithography changes from 5 to 4 nm, but it has enough impact that users feel the performance improvement.

A16 is supposed to have 18 to 20 billion transistors, up from 15 billion in A15. more than. This amount of more transistors may actually result in a 15% improvement in speed and 25-30% improvement in graphics power, which is really impressive. It should be noted that this performance improvement is going to happen while Apple wants to continue to use the same 6 cores in the order of 2 + 4 (2 large cores and 4 small cores).

The use of Samsung RAMs with fast LPDDR5 technology can also be the reason that the speed of the new iPhones can noticeably improve in performing various tasks, especially multitasking. This technology offers 50% more bandwidth compared to LPDDR4X and has lower power consumption. Of course, the amount of RAM will still remain at 6 GB. In the graphics department, we will probably see 5 or maybe even 6 cores again so that the chip does not get too big. Either way, the improvement we expect is 25-30%.
