Frogwares Studios, the developer of Sherlock Holmes: season 1, has just announced that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will be released on April 28, 2022 (May 8, 1401). But the release of the Xbox One version has been canceled.

In a constructive statement, he explained that with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the turmoil in the work and development team, it was a difficult decision to finalize the development of the PlayStation 4 and beyond. The release of the Xbox One version has been taken indefinitely. Users who pre-purchase the Xbox One version will receive a full refund.

The studio's full description goes on:

From September last year to February 2022, we worked hard on optimizing our game for PCs and consoles of the previous and current generations. It was then that we realized that the workload was larger than initially estimated. So last year we decided to first release the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions and then work on optimizing the previous generation versions. After the release of the ninth generation versions of the game, we continued to work on optimizing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. Various things were done that are not seen in the game, but changes were made to the city map to make the eighth generation versions run smoother. As those versions neared finalization, war broke out. With the resources and manpower at our disposal, we can release the PlayStation 4 version of the game on April 28th. However, we have to postpone the Xbox One version. We are not satisfied with this issue and we want to offer our games on more platforms. Naturally, many of you who have been waiting for this version are disappointed. We are also upset because we have invested our time and money in this version. A version that has been under development for an indefinite period of time. On the other hand, the lost money was a potential future income for the studio, which is important for an independent developer like us.
