The Konami company has just announced that it is preparing to bring back some Metal Gear Solid series games that were previously removed from digital stores.

In November of last year, Konami temporarily suspended sales of all versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 in digital stores as it worked on renewing licenses for select historical footage used in the games. Now it seems that this trend will end soon. Recently, Konami celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Metal Gear series by publishing a post on the official page of this series on Twitter. In the said tweet, the company also confirmed that it is preparing to resume sales of games that were temporarily suspended. Of course, the name of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 is not mentioned explicitly, but probably these games are meant. This tweet says:

The Metal Gear series, which was launched on July 13, 1987 (22 July 1366), is celebrating its 35th anniversary today. We are preparing to resume sales of games that were temporarily suspended.

However, recent rumors claim that the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater is being developed at Virtuos Studios based in Singapore. On the other hand, the profile of one of the studio's employees on the LinkedIn website had already mentioned the remake of an unannounced action and adventure game. Finally, it has been said that Konami plans to release different versions of the series for modern consoles.
