Gamescom 2022 will reappear after two years

The Cologne Games and Exhibition Association announced that the Gamescom 2022 Exhibition will be held in person from August 24 to 28, 2022 (September 2 to September 6) in Cologne. The event, which will be held in person, will be combined with an extensive digital program that will be available online worldwide. This health and safety method has been tested and proven many times by the Cologne City Fair and is to be used in this event as well. This method is designed in accordance with all current valid regulations to ensure the safety and high quality of accommodation. Some of these include actions such as improving reception management, digital queue management, very large corridors, or limited-capacity ticket allocation. The whole event is to be designed to help the environment in the medium and long term by reducing and preventing CO2 emissions and in the short term by modulating carbon.

Gamescom's 2022 Outline at a Glance
Felix Falk, CEO of the organization, in a press release "All Gamescom fans and partners have been waiting for this moment for two years: Gamescom is finally back in the Cologne showrooms, and as a result, the unique feeling of a festival that we all miss so much will return," he said. This year we are combining the best of both real and virtual worlds; Our extensive digital program along with the unique Gamescom experience in the exhibition hall. In the process, Gamescom will once again set new standards in 2022. With Gamescom Coming Green, we plan to turn Gamescom into a special, climate-friendly event with visitors and exhibitors. "Not only do we want to be a beacon for many initiatives to protect the environment and climate action in the international video game industry, but we also want to be a pioneer of international events in general."
Exhibitions and major industry events have often been digital, with Gamescom coming back and holding it in person can be a big deal, and if implemented successfully, it may revitalize such events.
