Abbas Maroufi's first collection of short stories entitled "Facing the Sun" was published in 1980 in Tehran. Before and after, his stories were published in some press; But it was with the publication of the Symphony of the Dead that his name as a writer was established. This famous Iranian journalist and writer has won many domestic and international awards and has left Iran for some time. Abbas Maroufi, now a resident of Germany, continues to write and his mastery of modern methods of storytelling and his knowledge of history and myth has made him one of the most popular Iranian writers.
