According to Deadline, Universal Pictures is now set to make a film based on a masterpiece by Nolfi starring Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy. The plot of the film is taken from the headline of the evacuation news of Afghanistan. Tatum and Hardy play the role of special forces who remain stranded in Afghanistan to rescue families and allies.
The film is based on true stories. And it follows the story of three former members of the Special Forces team who, along with their Afghan counterparts, work to save families and allies amid the rapid fall of Afghanistan in August. News of the film and casting comes just three months after Afghanistan was evacuated in August, which seems to be enough time for Nolfi and other members of the industry to write a screenplay about the conflict. Jake Gyllenhaal was cast in October as the translator, who is set to follow the story of an American sergeant who returns to the war zone after his last voyage to find his translator.
