We've already mentioned that the anime industry has become a huge and strange factory, and as a result, it has to use many similar stories. For this reason, many animes have similar stories. But "One Punch Man" is an exception in this regard. This spectacular and unconventional anime based on the manga of the same name by Wan (its third season is on the way), has taken a completely innovative look at superheroes.

Characteristics of One Punch Man anime
Director: Shingo Natsume, Chikara Sakurai
Creator: Wan
Producer: Madhouse, J. C. Staff
Year: 2015

"One Punch Man" is the story of a superhero named Saitama, who has become the strongest being in the entire universe and can destroy anyone with just one punch. But this boundless power has brought him to the peak of boredom and depression, because his biggest wish is to find someone who can withstand at least more than a punch. This anime continues the story of his adventures and his companions and enemies.

As Wan himself said, in "One Punch Man" he wanted to tell the story of an ordinary person who becomes a superhero. . Really, in the entire superhero works of the history of cinema and television, it is unlikely that you will find a more ordinary superhero than Saitama. He watches TV from morning to night, shops, looks for bargain bins, reads books, and in the meantime, if a scary creature attacks humans, he destroys it. Saitama is so ordinary that the people of the fictional world of "One-Punch Man" don't believe that the person who has saved humanity many times from the danger of extinction is this ordinary and bald man!

But the funniest joke of "One-Punch Man" is how Saitama's rise to power. He himself says that one day he decided to become the strongest person on earth, that's why he started training and one day he did 100 swims, 100 sit-ups, 100 sit-ups, and he became the strongest person in the world! So ridiculous and simple! The only sacrifice he made along the way was to lose all his hair due to the pressure of training. Secret organizations, other superheroes, and mad scientists are all looking to find out the secret to Saitama's superpowers, and poor Saitama can't find a better answer. This is perhaps the most intelligent arrangement used in "One Punch Man". That this unbeatable superhero is ordinary in every way, even in terms of how he became a super-powered superhero.

That a superhero reaches the ultimate power and has no rival is a wish that all fans of superhero works think about many times. But for Saitama, the realization of this dream has turned into a nightmare. He has reached the extreme of depression and emptiness. Days are repetitive for him. All the time is spent in boredom. Everything is predictable. as if he has seen the end of existence. Saitama's emptiness and depression have reached such a point that he wishes to become the weakling he once was again, maybe at least in that situation he can experience a little challenge and adventure. "One Punch Man" has reached a level of depth and complexity that is rarely seen in superhero works. It raises questions that have no place in such works. For example, what if the villain of the story can become the ruler of the world and destroy the world at all? so what? What if the superhero of the story reaches the ultimate power and no villain is safe from him? This anime shows very well that maybe the idealistic and pacifist world that many people are looking for is not that desirable! Maybe humanity needs a little challenge and difficulty. "One-Punch Man" has evolved, but it has also been hit. The biggest drawback of "One Punch Man" is that since its main character is an unrivaled superhero who kills everyone with one punch, there is no more challenge and suspense in this anime. Every villain and demonic creature that comes along, we already know that it will be little against Saitama's power. Because of this, battles become repetitive and boring. It seems that the team of anime creators knew about this, because "One-Punch Man" is full of exciting and spectacular fights that they have worked hard to design and build. As if the repetitiveness of the fights was supposed to be compensated through lots of excitement and action. But again, this case does not have much effect. The absurdity that Saitama is dealing with is slowly coming to the mind of the audience. He also slowly realizes that it is unlikely that there will be a change in the story path of the world's strongest being, so why should you follow him at all?!

Many of the ideas of "One Punch Man" are taken from Van's own life and his hobbies. For example, Saitama, the name of the main character of the story, was originally the name of the neighborhood where Wan lived. Or the design of Saitama's appearance and character is very influenced by the popular manga series "Crayon Shin-chan". It's made that Vaughan himself was a fan of as a child. They are the "one punch man" that you can go to. For example, the Union of Heroes with its stupid paperwork and administrative procedures is one of the spectacular parts of this anime. This union was originally created to organize and discipline the superheroes, but it is so insipid and carnable that it only causes more trouble. In the disqualification of this organization, the same argument that based on the different classifications they have made for heroes, Saitama, with all his power and competence, is placed in category C (lower than B, E and S)! The League of Heroes is a great symbol of all the characterless global organizations and institutions that the only thing they don't do is the job they've been given. Many around the world follow it. But after the second season, which was released in 2019, there was no new news about this anime for a long time. Until a few days ago, the creators announced with a poster that the third season is under construction. Even more strange is that a real movie (live action) is going to be made based on this manga and anime. Fast and Furious director Justin Lin is the fifth and sixth director, with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker (Venom writers) also writing. We are waiting impatiently! This anime has a lot of potential, and if the production team continues their work with utmost care and obsession, we will definitely be on the side of a spectacular adaptation.
